Reviews

Our students love the freedom, flexibility and support we offer. See what they're saying about Sophia's courses.

by Alexander D. on September 18, 2017
My first course with Sophia. Throughout, I tried to find a "best approach" for taking the course (e.g., what notes and formulas to capture, go to challenges first then review other topics or review all tutorials first then challenges, etc.). Eventually, I found my what works best and was able to complete the course. In regards to content, navigation and tutorials, they were are all well done.
by Niya N. on September 14, 2017
Overall, good course. The work was difficult at times, but reasonable. Exactly what you would expect from an online class. Staff/customer service and the videos were very helpful and the time frame given is doable.
by Alexandra H. on September 13, 2017
The units where the only tutorial is a recorded one with her words written underneath were harder to follow (I think they were mostly in unit 6). That's my only commnent!
by Joseph P. on September 11, 2017
My first class on ethics and covered all broad aspects of ethical branches. Good tutorials also!

I found the questions at the final very difficult compared to the exams before. I didn't think it would be so difficult. Especially the proctoring was such an issue. I couldn't finish one day because the lady there had no clue what she was doing and had to wait another day to finish where I didn't have a babysitter watching my kids. Thankfully they were quite cooperative. The course as such was ok but sometimes I found the lingo not very clear, many repetitions in the speech of the instructor. I used Amanda because she has scripts of her videos but these are as I said often redundant and not very clear and to the point.

Need better videos relating to specific problems
by Latrell M. on September 7, 2017
This has real-life examples. Some were just like my workplace. Thanks Sophia!

This is the third course I've taken with Sophia. It started of well for me but as time went on and I got to the 5th unit I was done mentally with the course. I wrote two notebooks worth of notes for this course and it's repetitive nature made me feel less motivated as time went on and I choose to do an extension. I failed one of the chapters and it was reopened for me without trouble to redo it. I do like the option of these courses and I like that they're self paced. My only complaint is how repetitive they can be at times.
